How do lessons work?
My lessons teach you grammar and vocabulary through active recall -- practicing pulling Spanish words from memory instead of simply recognizing them -- and conversation practice. I will always let you know what we’ll be learning in the next lesson.
How much does tutoring cost?
My rate is $40 per 50-minute class. If your employer will reimburse you for language learning classes, I'm happy to provide monthly invoices.
How often should we meet?
My program is two 50-minute classes per week, because that frequency gives us enough repetition and continuity to build momentum.
What level of Spanish do I need?
I teach Spanish to adult learners of all levels. Many of my students start as complete beginners, but many are intermediate or advanced. I'll meet you wherever you are.
Do you give homework?
I give practice material on every topic I teach, which you can review anytime. Reviewing is optional but it helps concepts stick much better.
Can you teach Spanish specifically for my profession?
Yes! I teach students from many industries, and can tailor to yours specifically.

Why should you work with me instead of a native Spanish speaker?
Because I also learned Spanish from zero, and I can help you understand complex things about Spanish by explaining them to you in native English.
Where do lessons take place?
Classes take place on Google Meet, which is a free video conference platform that is similar to Zoom.

Being bilingual creates a safer and more connected world for us all to live in.
Why tutoring vs. a standard class or learning apps like Duolingo?
Group Spanish classes don’t give you enough opportunities to practice speaking and using Spanish. Apps like Duolingo can help you learn vocabulary, but they don't provide real-time correction or improve your ability to actually speak.
My tutoring method is customized, and focuses on teaching you to speak Spanish clearly and correctly. 1-on-1 practice, repetition and feedback prepare you for real-life conversations in Spanish. I help you understand what is most important to focus on, and what doesn't actually move the needle.
Is anyone too old to learn Spanish?
Only if you decide you are! I have successfully taught many adults who simply decided they were not too old, and improved their Spanish greatly. Learning a second language is also incredibly good for your brain health.
